One of the most important life skills is learning how to swim. Make sure your entire family has this important life skill. The skills are based on levels: Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. *No Class July 4th
The Typhoons Swim Team is part of the Northern Illinois Swim Conference. the emphasis of this conference is placed on learning competitive skills, enjoyment of the sport, and lifelong participation in swimming. The conference has dual meets every week, which allow participants to gain experience. Practices are Monday-Friday from 4:30-5:30 for 6Y-9Y, and 4:30-6:00pm for 10Y-18Y. There are five dual meets, all held on Wednesdays. Children 9 years old must be able to swim 50 years non-stop and 8 yards old must be able to swim the length of the pool without help. Volunteer parents are needed for the home swim meet, you can sign up at the parents meeting.
This is a fun and safe learning environment to help your child learn to swim. Parents must get in the water with their child.
Schedule your lessons with the times listed. This course will focus on one on one skill work with trained instructors on swimming skills. Each instructor works with the child based on their skill level and helps them achieve more confidence in the water and learn the basics of swimming.
These semi-private swim lessons will allow your child to work more closely with the instructor. The class size is kept smaller to ensure your child the ability to learn more during the lesson in a smaller group setting.
